Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: Divock Origi’s injury is ‘serious’

first_img1 Divock Origi scored in the 4-0 win before he was stretchered off Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted Divock Origi’s injury is ‘serious’, but it does not mean he will be out for the rest of the season. The Reds striker was stretchered off during the Merseyside victory over Everton, after Ramiro Funes Mori’s red-card challenge in the second half. But the German believes it will not be season-ending. Liverpool have five Premier League games remaining, plus at least two Europa League matches. Origi will be a big miss, having scored five goals in his last five outings. “It is serious, but we will try everything,” said Klopp of the Belgium international’s injury.“The season is not over, without taking any risk for the player.“I am long enough in this to know we are all different, all individuals.“A long time ago I had an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament injury) and I played after four months. No-one could believe it worked, but I never had a problem.“Why should we say now the season is over when we still believe there can be a few games?”center_img The boss confirms @DivockOrigi’s injury is serious but doesn’t believe his season is over.— Liverpool FC (@LFC) April 22, 2016last_img read more
