Armagh host Donegal in what promises to be a cracking Ulster SFC quarter-final clash between two sides who have enjoyed a healthy rivalry over the years. The All-Ireland quarter-final between the two counties at Croke Park last year was a tense and physical encounter which threatened to spill over at times last year. A number of scuffles broke out and Donegal team doctor Kevin Moran was flung to the ground during one of the many physical exchanges that occurred. The psychological mind games have begun in the run-up to Sunday’s eagerly anticipated clash with Armagh star Ciaran McKeever claiming Donegal are the best team in Ireland.McKeever told The Irish News, “Since Jim McGuinness took over, Donegal have been one of the top teams in Ireland.“As a footballer, you always love a challenge. You always relish a challenge against the best and we’re facing the best team in Ireland. “It’s the Ulster championship and we’re under no illusions as to how competitive it is.“Only 30 medals are given out each year and you always want to have one.“Last year, we were coming in after five or six games on the bounce, we were in really great form. There was a buzz about the place and huge momentum.“This time it’s different. Donegal have a game over them (against Tyrone) and we have been sitting idle for seven weeks.“We have been trying to keep a competitive edge. We’re out of Division 3, it’s a massive challenge and we have to try and claw our way out of it.” ARMAGH STAR CLAIMS DONEGAL ARE THE BEST TEAM IN IRELAND was last modified: June 11th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:armaghdonegalGAAHome-page Sportnewslast_img
